BCGCM1005B Carry out measurements and calculations specifies the competency required to carry out measurements and perform simple calculations to determine task and material requirements for a job in a General Construction work environment.

BCGCA2002B Use carpentry tools and equipment specifies the competency required to safely select and use carpentry tools and equipment. The unit includes hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, plant and equipment.
BCGCM2007B Use explosive power tools specifies the competency required to apply safe and effective operation of explosive power tools used to fasten materials or fix fasteners to bases of concrete, masonry or steel. The unit includes both direct action and indirect action explosive powered fastening tools.
BCGCO2003B Carry out concreting to simple forms specifies the competency required to safely install formwork, reinforcement, place and finish concrete for the construction of minor slabs, pathways and other minor works to a specified design finish. The unit includes positioning the truck, placement of concrete from truck to work area, spreading of concrete and site clean up.
BCGCM2002B Carry out excavation Undertake hand excavation tasks and excavations requiring the assistance of plant machinery to form excavations for footings and the provisions of services.

BCGCA3004B Construct wall frames Plan, prepare, set out, construct and erect load bearing and non load bearing wall frames for the different types of loadings determined by the roof top and bracing configuration.
Includes set out, cutting and fabrication of both timber and metal wall frames, the erection, connection and bracing of wall frames to specifications.
BCGCA3005B Construct ceiling frames Plan, prepare, set out, construct and erect ceiling frames to accommodate ceiling joists, hanging beams, strutting beams and composite beams.
The unit includes the selection of members and the setting out of the ceiling frame in conjunction with the roof members.
BCGCA3007B Construct a pitched roof Select, set out, construct and erect pitched roofs to accommodate roof coverings for waterproofing purposes.
The unit includes scotch valley gable, hip and valley, broken hip and valley and combinations thereof.
